Since I am bringing quite a few gadgets on this tour, I had to figure out a way of supplying them with a reasonable amount of electricity on order to be able to use them continuously. After doing my fair share of research, I settled on the following.
- Anker 2nd Gen Astro E5 16000mAh External Battery as the primary source for charging USB devices
- Voltaic V72 Laptop Battery to charge the laptop as well as any USB devices
- PIXO C-USB Universal Charger for charging the DSLR battery as well as other lithium-ion batteries
- Lenmar Meridian iPhone 5/5s Power Case
Those won’t keep me off the grid for long, naturally, since all three external batteries need to be re-charged themselves eventually. However, given this tour takes place in a developed country, my guess is that won’t be far away from a power outlet at any given time. For touring in more remote areas, I would certainly considering a solar panel into the mix.
Is this sufficient? Well, only one way to find out.
